March April 2009 Newsletter

Dear Ministry Partners and Friends,
The last two months have been very busy, and we have seen many blessings from the Lord.

We have held five seminars in conjunction with five One Day with God Camps in three different states. We saw 34 individuals pray to receive Christ and 14 rededications. It’s amazing to see how the Lord works to draw people to Himself.

Ouida has been able to go with me to a few seminars and camps. It’s been great having someone to travel with. Ouida and Scottie have set up a prayer room for Saturday’s ODWG Camp. We have had volunteers praying throughout the day. It not only changes the way things go through the day, it also impacts the ones praying.

I had the opportunity to introduce a new program at Tyger River Correctional called Holistic Hardware, a 10 week faith-based course. It gives parolees 10 tools to help change from the way that got them where they are today. This is part of a re-entry program that the DOC has begun to give men proper life skills to prepare to re-enter society.

I have been looking for someone to help with the seminars in order to expand the ministry, and while teaching at Tyger River I met a man who is interested in the prison ministry. He is a former correction officer and minister. I feel he would be a real asset to the ministry. Please pray that if this is God’s will, He will give him a vision for becoming involved with this ministry.

Partners and friends, I covet your prayers as we are looking at some changes for the ministry. I have a desire for Blue Ridge Ministries to become an organization that can impact many dads and families for countless years to come. That means we need to start planning now for the future. We need to begin by praying for more volunteers.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE
Ouida and I are looking forward to a new grandchild in November.

In His Service,
Jim Williams
